LEACAN – the National Association of 14-19 Curriculum Advisers asked members to contribute to a resource to exemplify the best practice in 14-19 practice. The final document best represents what members are most proud of having established in their local authority to the benefit of young people who would otherwise miss out.
Some cater for a specific group; some are wider initiatives targeting KS4, Post 16 or the whole 14-19 cohort. The case studies celebrate that which members hold dear, which add value and which they would like to see implemented more widely.
There are 47 case studies in total and they are categorized into 7 main themes: Foundation Learning, Reducing the number of young people not engaged in education, employment or training (NEETs), Careers education and guidance for progression, Strategic planning, Quality assurance, the Diploma and Young people’s voice.
